my goal is to go at least one week without facebook.

It's crashing in my ears

Today is one of those amazing, perfect days where you can't help but to smile for no particular reason.

I read a book once that claimed it's absurd for humans to feel happiness when the sun shines... that something like the weather cannot possibly be related to emotion.

I wholeheartedly disagree.

The second I walked outside this morning, I knew today would be fantastic; and I was right.

It looks like me and my favourite future and current roomies have FINALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYY found a house that is a.) not a scam, b.) doesn't have bedbugs and/or mice, and c.) is above ground AND has windows!!!

in fact, we currently have 3 houses lined up and all we need to do is pick one!

so yes,

lately it's been mine and my roommates' goal to watch all (or at least most) of the movies nominated for Oscars this year. While i still haven't seen all of them, An Education definitely takes my pick for Best Picture this year, so far. It's really a beautiful film.

and, with the arrival of this magnificent season and the end of one of the coldest winter's i've ever had to experience comes major changes to my blog.

actually it's mostly just the layout that has changed majorly.. and that i promise to post much more often than i have been.

i'm so excited for life right now. now that my heavy midterms are finally finished and most of the essays are finally written, all i can look forward to is the summer.. which is sure to be one of the greatest everrrrrrrrrr.

I got my head checked, by a jumbo jet

so here's the current situation
i should be in arizona right now for a palma-caputo reading week vacation extravaganza. instead, it is 2:31 am and i am sitting in an EMPTY airport in lansing, michigan. first of all, who knew an airport existed in lansing, michigan? and second of all whyy on earth am i spending the night here?
well here's the story:
flight number 1- Toronto to Detroit was delayed by over an hour
flight number 2- Detroit to Phoenix COULD NOT WAIT FOR 9 PEOPLE FOR 15 MINUTES AND DECIDED TO LEAVE WITHOUT US.
apparently there are no other flights to pheonix
why would there be?
so, the 9 of us hopped in a cab and drove the 2 hours to the godforsaken place that is lansing, michigan.
we've currently overtaken the entire airport, sleeping anywhere we can find a comfortable chair. this is the third airport i've been in today
tomorrow, we'll be flying to minnesota, and then finally (dare i say it) PHEONIX!
so bottom line:
fuck you, delta airlines.

i just want to be suntanning, right now.

p.s. last night was just about one of the greatest nights ever

life has been pretty crazy lately. there has been so many other things on my mind that i haven't photographed in so long.. like weeks. it's quite sad, really

anyways, so what's been up with me lately is this:

- i randomly decided that the second language teaching program is not for me because i hate linguistics with a flaming passion. i'm now somewhere in the middle between the francais program and french-spanish-english translation. i'm way too indecisive for this

- i sort of feel like i have taken pictures of everything in ottawa. i should probably make a trek out to parliament one day to finish off the city

- oddly enough, i love working at ottawa bowring. seriously

- in the past month i have managed to watch all 6 seasons of dawson's creek. i'm literally obsessed.

- i've moved on with my life only to find myself exactly where i was 5 years ago in some ways. i wouldn't have it any other way.

- i'm officially legal in ontario!!!!!!!

- i cannot wait until friday february 12, 2010. why? because i'm coming home for reading week, then having my belated birthday party at the tattoo rock parlour, then leaving for arizona the next day.

i'm so excited for life.

sometimes i wish that i wasn't so jaded or gullible, that i could just live without preconceived ideas and constant worries.
i don't want life to be any easier, but i do wish it was just slightly less cluttered.
i live for the day where i can honestly say that i've overcome it all-- that i'm completely content with it all.

today i realized something:
maybe the universe knows me better than i know myself.
while that may sound like an incredibly new wave/hippy thing to say, lately i've been prone to thinking that this can only be true. sometimes we think we want things, never stopping to realize why or what our lives will turn out like if we actually received everything we wanted. so, i'm thinking maybe fate has something to do with all of this. maybe this sounds like a load of bullshit to you, but maybe it's true and fate really does know us better than we know ourselves. in thinking this, i am conforted by the belief that everything will work out in the end, cause the world is looking out for me.

or maybe i'm just way too idealistic.
either way, i am so content with my life right now
AND i passed linguistics! (haha, just had to throw that in there)
